Using Landing Pages to Boost Your Conversion Rate

Every business understands the hard work that goes into getting people to visit your website. The next step is to get them to convert, but how?

Landing pages.

What it is:

A landing page is a web page that allows you to collect a visitor’s information such as name, email, and phone number. It should target a specific audience, like someone who wants to sign up for your emails or download a piece of your content (webinars, whitepapers, etc.).

The intent of a landing page is to help you gather warm leads from people who have a definite interest in your company.

Here’s one we created using Clearbit Forms:

Who it’s for:

Do you have a website and you want to generate leads? Increase your conversions? Start more conversations? A landing page is for you. It can be something as simple as getting someone to sign up for your email list or for a coupon, or even just a “contact us” form for questions, comments, and concerns.

The form shown above is one we use to gather emails from people interested in one of our downloadable templates. Once we have their information, we can send them other relevant information and help stay top-of-mind for potential clients.

How it works:

To give you a better idea, let’s start with an example.

Let’s say someone is running a small business and wants to learn more about paid advertising. So they Google how to have a great paid advertising campaign and they come across the Grey Matter blog, “3 Key Components Of A Spectacular Paid Advertising Campaign.”

The content is helpful, but they realize they need more help with their marketing strategy. They notice a call to action, “Contact Us” on the page, so click the link and put in their information with the hopes that we at Grey Matter can offer our inbound marketing expertise and help them grow their business (which we will).

We have now captured a strong lead. This is someone who is interested in learning more, and better yet, wants us to follow up with them.

A landing page can be as simple as a “contact us” form on your website, but it is a powerful tool in the world of conversion.

How we’re using it:

We use our landing pages for our downloadable content, which you can find here. It helps us understand who is visiting our site and what they are interested in. By gathering this information, we can track engagement and convert our leads with stronger information, like what they downloaded.

Landing pages are a simple tool that turns your inbound sales process into a conversion machine.

Let’s Talk.
